Overall Purpose of Job

Based in our London office, this is a critical role in the creation and delivery of GVA’s digital marketing and communications strategy, with a crucial focus on championing digital across the business.

Main Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities


The overall purpose of this role is to deliver a digital communications and marketing ecosystem which supports business activities internally and externally. The role will also see you working closely with internal teams to deliver robust and inspiring content across our channels, along with identifying new channels and supporting existing ones.


  • Create and deliver the digital strategy in order to significantly increase brand awareness and drive traffic and conversions, specifically through SEO, social media marketing, email marketing and content marketing
  • To support and manage the launch of the new GVA website in conjunction with a digital project manager
  • Following launch, to manage the on-going development and maintenance of the website and other new products, working closely with the head of communications and head of marketing to assess and prioritise needs
  • To manage the maintenance of the website including updating and approving content through the CMS and resolving technical problems in conjunction with 3rd party agency
  • To implement the SEO strategy and manage all activity both in-house and with external agencies, including website and content marketing campaigns
  • To develop and implement the social media strategy to grow and engage our audiences across LinkedIn and Twitter as well as monitoring and recommendations for other channels
  • Responsible for delivering marketing communications campaigns through digital channels to maximise the effectiveness of websites and digital communications to drive ROI including email marketing, web management, digital advertising (ppc), SEO and marketing automation
  • Responsible for supporting the co-ordination and implementation of marketing campaigns through a centralised model
  • Analytics and performance reporting across all digital marketing channels and platforms
  • Creating and maintaining digital marketing dashboards for regular reporting and benchmarking

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • You must be educated to degree level or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years + previous relevant experience in senior strategic digital marketing
  • Blend of technical and creative skills, with the ability to devise digital campaigns that drive brand awareness inform
  • Experience overseeing agency partners: creative, website developments, PPC and social media.
  • Ability to build relationships internally and externally and show excellent interpersonal and influencing skills.
  • Demonstrate experience leading and managing SEO, email, social media, marketing database and digital display advertising campaigns.
  • Solid knowledge of website analytics and experience setting up
  • Oversee budgets and costs, understanding and negotiating rates.
  • Up to date with the latest trends and best practices in online marketing, social media, and communications platforms.
