Overall Purpose of Job


To support Credit Manager and ensure effective credit control of accounts in order to maximise cash flow and minimise bad debts.


Main Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities


  • Effective credit control of own panel of accounts, liaison with Fee Earners & Directors.
  • Assist in the co-ordination of workflow to ensure that targets are achieved and to deliver an efficient service to Business Units.
  • Monitor activity and performance in relation to queries raised by clients to ensure resolution and timely payment of fees.
  • Provide performance reports to Credit Manager with recommendations for improvement where required.
  • Act on own initiative, exercising expertise in a constructive manner to further develop the Credit Management function.
  • Complete any other duties within agreed deadlines.


Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience


Task Planning

  • Review workflow daily and schedule tasks in order of priority to meet deadlines.
  • Provide weekly performance reports to Credit Manager and report on variances.


Decision Making

  • Collate & assess all available data, examine options and recommend suitable courses of action
  • Ensure all queries are investigated and timely responses made.



  • Be aware of opportunities to add value to services.
  • Use experience and knowledge to ensure that service levels are constantly reviewed.
