Overall Purpose of Job

 

The Senior Facilities Manager will manage all building and facilities services on behalf of GVA and its Client. The successful candidate will require excellent relationship management skills and a strong commitment to exceptional standards of facilities services and customer care.  Extensive experience in facilities and a track record in the management of hard and soft service provision within a pharmaceutical or manufacturing environment is absolutely essential.  The ability to lead and motivate a site based team, providing direction and support will also be key to the successful achievement of the Client’s and GVA’s joint strategic objectives.

 

Main Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities

 

  • To manage and control all FM services, whether delivered through the site-based team or through the supply chain, in an efficient and cost effective manner. Ensure that third party contracts are reviewed, monitored and tendered etc., in order to maintain an effective operation and meet the requirements of the Client. Ensure that service providers, within their remit, are delivering to agreed ethics and to the standards and levels required.

 

  • To assist in the implementation and management of financial procedures and MI that monitor expenditure, to agreed authority levels, for the products and services under the control of the GVA Team.

 

  • To lead, motivate and develop all employees within the team, ensuring a flexible and efficient approach to the management, delivery and administration of facilities services is maintained. The incumbent must ensure that the Team are fully conversant with their statutory responsibilities.

 

  • To act as the focal point, where applicable, in the event of any emergency or disaster, ensuring appropriate communication links between staff, contractors, incident managers and building occupants. To assist in the development and management of the Client’s DR process.

 

  • Ensure the Client’s internal standards and corporate responsibilities are met with regard to safety, health and environmental legislation and agreed operating practices.

 

  • To assist the Client’s internal management team as directed in any project related initiatives e.g. building improvements / adaptations and internal moves or churn related activity.

 

  • To assist in the development and on-going reporting of management information, on a regular basis, to the Client. This will include monthly financial and operational reporting, KPI, SLA and Balanced Scorecard reporting that demonstrates the effectiveness of the GVA FM Team.

  • Experience within a Pharmaceutical environment
