Overall Purpose of Job

We have a requirement for a Senior Building Surveyor with the drive to organise, improve efficiency and exceed our client’s expectations.  Ideally with 3+ years post qualification experience, you'll be confident shaping challenging projects from initial client briefing through to project design, preparation and site supervision, undertaking all aspects of due diligence and consultancy based instructions.


Based in our London offices you will work on a variety of professional and project work for investors, lenders, occupiers, developers, and the public sector. Our broad client mix offers opportunities for travel around the UK and further afield with exposure to a diverse range of property types.

Main Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities


In joining the Building Division, you will enjoy a high quality and diverse range of instructions. The focus of the position is likely to concentrate on Contract Administration and Project Management, together with professional matters. Your duties will include:


  • Contract administration and Project Management
  • Project Monitoring
  • Building surveys
  • Dilapidations
  • Planned maintenance schedules
  • Reinstatement-cost assessments



Desired Knowledge, Skills and Experience

The successful candidate should be a well-rounded Chartered Building Surveyor with a solid background in technical due diligence work and a current bias to Contract Administration and Project Management roles, ideally with a Fund orientated background.  Candidates would ideally have experience working in the office and retail sectors.


We welcome candidates keen to maintain a mixed and flexible “diet” of varied surveying work whilst working with us to continue to build our Contract Administration and Project Management offerings.


You will be dealing with mixed use classes including offices, industrial, retail and leisure properties.


The Role involves servicing existing and established clients and you will be required to demonstrate your desire and ability to develop new clients.


You are expected to be fully comfortable with working in a multi-disciplinary Chartered Surveying environment, shall be conversant with the London and South East market and have excellent technical skills and commercial acumen.
